What
are POP accounts, E-mail Forwarding, Aliases, Exploders,
and AutoResponders?
Here's
a brief overview of your mail setup options:
POP
mailbox accounts
You can have mailboxes which store the mail on our servers
and let you connect with a mail client to download the
mail to your computer. These are referred to as POP
mailbox accounts. Note that your Internet provider will
usually provide you with one of these mailboxes when
they give you your account.
E-mail
Forwarding
If you would like one or more addresses at your domain
forwarded to an existing mailbox (maybe the one you
have which your Internet provider gave you), we can
do that too.
E-mail
Aliasing
If you would like one or more addresses at your domain
to go to one POP mailbox account at our servers, they're
called "aliases", as the one POP mailbox account
would have all of those names. For this we would need
one password (for the one POP account).
Exploders
An Exploder is like an E-mail distribution center where
the e-mail sent to one alias at your domain will be
forwarded to multiple recipients. This service is equivalent
to a small mailing list which allows up to 16 recipients
per exploder.
AutoReponders
An AutoResponder is a setup where you can have our system
automatically reply to an incoming E-mail message with
a message you customize on your own. This sort of setup
is handy for an automatic, quick thank-you note to customers
who send an E-mail to your "orders" E-mail
address, or for automatically replying to people when
you're away on vacation, etc. The AutoResponder also
sends you a copy of the incoming E-mail so you can reply
personally, track orders, etc.
We can also do combinations of the above. There is no
limit on aliases or forwardings. With an EZsite, you
have 10 free POP mailbox accounts. With a POWERsite,
you have 20 free POP mailbox accounts. If you'd like
more than the number of free POP accounts associated
with your account type, each additional is $2/month.
There is no charge for any other setup.
Please
feel free to contact Worldindia Support if you have
any additional questions.
